Semi-finals set for TBI Boys Tournament

The semi-final matchups are set at the 2025 Tsumura Basketball Invitational Boys Tournament following Day 2 of the four-day tournament at Langley Events Centre.
Thursday featured the quarter-final round for both the Select 16 and Super 16 brackets, setting the stage for the final four in both divisions.
The Collingwood Cavaliers (West Vancouver) will face Surrey’s L.A. Matheson Mustangs in one semi-final in the Select 16 bracket while the St. Thomas More Collegiate Knights (Burnaby) battle Vancouver’s King George Dragons in the other.
And in the Super 16 bracket, it will be Surrey’s Tamanawis Wildcats against the Terry Fox Ravens (Port Coquitlam) and Abbotsford’s M.E.I. Eagles taking on the St. Patrick Celtics (Vancouver).
All four semi-final games will be played on Centre Court beginning at 3:00pm.

Collingwood Cavaliers 76 Brentwood College 67
Trailing by 13 early in the fourth quarter, the Collingwood Cavaliers surged back with a decisive 28-6 run to secure the win over Brentwood College. Peter Huang led the charge, scoring 25 points including six three-pointers, while Elliot McNeill added 23. Brentwood College was paced by Jaxen Lust with 18 points, Kang Cho with 15, and Jackson Lenarcic contributing 13.
L.A. Matheson Mustangs 89 Richmond Colts 73
The L.A. Matheson Mustangs led from start to finish in an 89-73 win over the Richmond Colts. Joven Sanghera paced the Mustangs with 23 points, supported by 18 from Jashan Mahal and 13 from Harsahib Cheema. Richmond’s offence was powered by Justin Chen (19), Tomiwal Aderinto (17), and Justin Guan (16), who combined for 52 points.
St. Thomas More Collegiate Knights 69 Pacific Academy Breakers 63 (OT)
Diego Gonzalez and Jaden Piamonte knocked down clutch three-pointers, and Logan Ball added five points in overtime as the St. Thomas More Collegiate Knights edged the Pacific Academy Breakers 69-63. Landon Isog — whose late free throw forced the extra period — finished with a team-high 21 points, while Piamonte and Ball added 17 and 16, respectively.
The Breakers were led by Judah Ashbee with 23 points and Jessie Babs-Ishola with 13.
King George Dragons 56 Wellington Wildcats 41
Trailing 18-3 early in the first quarter, the King George Dragons staged an impressive comeback, outscoring the Wellington Wildcats by 30 points over the remainder of the game to secure a 56-41 win.
The Dragons tightened their defense in the second quarter, limiting Wellington to just four points and leveling the score by halftime before pulling ahead. Rei Ikeda led King George with 26 points, while Abud Shawwa contributed 18. Jackson Peters paced the Wildcats with 23 points.
Super 16
St. Patrick Celtics 99 Argyle Pipers 72
Riley Santa Juana led the St. Patrick Celtics with 36 points as they pulled away to a 99-72 victory over the Argyle Pipers in their quarter-final matchup. Santa Juana knocked down five of the team’s nine three-pointers, while Jemuel Castro and Dhyne Cotin contributed 24 and 17 points, respectively.
The youthful Pipers, featuring just one Grade 12 player, were paced by Sahai Sangha’s 32 points and Nathan Szpak’s 22.
M.E.I. Eagles 66 Vancouver College Fighting Irish 64
After trailing since the opening quarter, the M.E.I. Eagles surged ahead in the final frame to earn a 66-64 comeback victory over the Vancouver Fighting Irish. Mercer Thiessen paced M.E.I. with 23 points—10 of them in the first quarter—while Gabe Headley scored 14 and Kaden Vandervelden chipped in 10.
Vancouver College was led by its Grade 12 backcourt, with Ashton Wong scoring 20 and Lucas Tan-Ngo adding 18.
Terry Fox Ravens 71 G.W. Graham Grizzlies 65
The Terry Fox Ravens closed on a six-point surge, breaking a fourth-quarter tie to defeat the G.W. Graham Grizzlies 71-65. Ravens’ 6-foot-8 centre Maksym Cicheki powered the win with 30 points, while Nick Baker scored 18 and Kenji Tominez added 17 to lead the Grizzlies.
Tamanawis Wildcats 90 Kelowna Owls 83
The Tamanawis Wildcats built a key 28-15 first-quarter lead and held on to defeat the Kelowna Owls 90-83. Four Wildcats scored in double digits, led by Luke Guzina’s 30 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter. Nate Parmar led Kelowna with 23, while Finn Stewart added 22 second-half points.
