December is packed with high-energy action across the ice, court, and turf. Here’s a look at what’s happening this month.
Vancouver Giants (WHL)
December delivers six home games and two of the most festive traditions of the season for the Vancouver Giants with the Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by Preston Chevrolet and the Township of Langley Firefighters Charitable Society Toy Drive on December 14.
Teddy Bear Toss Night – December 13 (Presented by Preston Chevrolet) Help fill the ice with teddy bears and stuffed animals following the Giants’ first goal of the game against the Victoria Royals. All teddy bear toss collections will be donated to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau to help families in need this holiday season.
Township of Langley Firefighters Charitable Society Toy Drive – December 14 Partnering with the Township of Langley Firefighters Charitable Society, the Giants will collect toys and donations for B.C. Children’s Hospital.

That game also saw Cameron Schmidt tie a WHL record as he scored five seconds into the contest. And the following game has Burke Hood deliver a 55-save performance in a 4-3 win over the Western-Conference leading Everett Silvertips.
