Playoffs near for Giants and Spartans while high school basketball championships return to LEC

February is packed with non-stop action at Langley Events Centre, featuring major junior hockey, university athletics, international soccer, and championship high school basketball. Highlights include seven Vancouver Giants home games, multiple Trinity Western Spartans volleyball and women’s hockey contests, the CONCACAF Champions Cup showdown between Vancouver FC and Cruz Azul, plus the high school basketball championships and the WHL Top Prospects Game.

Vancouver Giants

With just seven weeks left in the regular season, the Vancouver Giants are charging full steam ahead in their quest for a playoff spot — and February is packed with home-ice action to fuel that push. Out of their 10 games this month, seven will be played right here in Langley, giving fans plenty of chances to rally behind the team.


The Giants hit the ice on three Friday nights and two Saturdays, plus two matinee matchups — including a special Family Day game on February 16 at 2:00 p.m.


February also brings fan-favorite theme nights: get ready to rock out at 80’s Night, presented by Jack 96.9, on February 7, and join the important conversation during the Talk Today Game on February 13, presented by the Canadian Mental Health Association. It’s more than just hockey — it’s a full experience for the whole community.

Trinity Western Spartans Athletics

February marks the home stretch for the Trinity Western Spartans as they gear up for playoffs and big postseason moments. The men’s volleyball squad is riding high at second in the country with a 13-3 record, battling to secure crucial home-court advantage for the Canada West quarter-finals. Meanwhile, the women’s volleyball team is locked into a playoff spot at 11-5, but they’ll be pushing hard to crack the top four and earn a coveted home playoff date.


No matter how the regular season wraps, Spartans fans have plenty to look forward to — especially with the U Sports Women’s Volleyball National Championship coming to Langley Events Centre March 13-15.


TWU will host the nation’s best for three intense days of elite volleyball competition on home court.


On the ice, the Spartans women’s hockey team is focused on solidifying their postseason spot as they host the Regina Cougars for a weekend matinee doubleheader, adding even more excitement to a thrilling month ahead.

WHL Top Prospects Game

High School Basketball

Langley Events Centre will once again become the epicenter of high school basketball in British Columbia as it hosts the 2026 BC School Sports Girls Basketball Provincial Championships, running February 25–28. Celebrating the 76th edition of this storied tournament, the four-tier, 64-team championship will bring together the top high school girls basketball programs from across the province for four days of elite competition. With 128 games played across multiple courts, the event delivers wall-to-wall action, unforgettable moments, and a showcase of the province’s best young talent. From opening tip to championship buzzer, this signature event promises an electric atmosphere and a true celebration of school sport at its highest level.

 

The Junior Boys Basketball Invitational Tournament runs February 21 to 24 at Langley Events Centre. This 32-team tournament features competitive high school teams from across the region.

 

The Langley District Basketball Championships are February 4 and 5. This annual event brings together the top Grade 8, Grade 9 and junior boys and girls basketball teams from the Langley school district to compete for district titles and qualify to advance to the Eastern Valley Athletic Association Championships. And a few weeks later, the Eastern Valley and Fraser North will hold their respective Senior Boys zone championships on February 22.

 

Langley Gymnastics Foundation

The Langley Grand Invitational is a multi-day gymnastics competition hosted by the Langley Gymnastics Foundation from February 12 to 15. The event features artistic gymnasts of various levels for several days of competition, showcasing routines across multiple apparatus and age categories.
