Trinity Western Spartans (U SPORTS)
The Trinity Western Spartans are back in action and poised to make their mark as the winter portion of their Canada West seasons gets underway.
The Spartans women’s basketball team sits atop the Pacific Division with an impressive 10–2 record, while the women’s hockey team is currently third in the West Division at 8–9–1–0 for 17 points. On the volleyball court, both teams are firmly in the playoff mix, with the men (8–2) in fourth place and the women (7–3) holding fifth. Both volleyball teams are also ranked nationally with the men entering the winter season at #2 while the women are #4. Meanwhile, the men’s basketball (5–7) and men’s hockey (3–14–1–0) squads will be looking to build momentum and climb above the playoff line in their respective divisions.
As Spartan teams eye strong finishes and post-season qualification, the women’s volleyball squad is already set for a mid-March spotlight. TWU will host the U SPORTS Women’s Volleyball National Championship from March 13-15, featuring eight of the country’s top teams competing over three days for the national title. Both single game and tournament passes are now on sale.
