Dragons vs. Mustangs in one final while Wildcats battle Celtics in the other

A pair of Surrey schools will battle their Vancouver counterparts on the final day of the 2025 Tsumura Basketball Invitational Boys Tournament championship on Saturday.

The King George Dragons (Vancouver) take on the L.A. Matheson Mustangs (Surrey) in the Select 16 bracket final while the St. Patrick Celtics (Vancouver) face the Tamanawis Wildcats (Surrey) in the Super 16 final.


Both championship finals will be played on South Court with the Select 16 title game tipping off at 3:00pm, followed by the Super 16 game at 4:45pm.

L.A. Matheson Mustangs 93 Collingwood Cavaliers 76

Damien Onokpite poured in 24 points — including 12 during a decisive third-quarter push — as the L.A. Matheson Mustangs pulled away for a 93-76 win over the Collingwood Cavaliers. The Mustangs featured balanced scoring with Jashan Mahal contributing 21, Jaiden Shergill adding 18, and Jason Hothi finishing with 13.


For Collingwood, McNeil had 18 points while Yihan Wang and Peter Huang each scored 16.


King George Dragons 57 St. Thomas More Collegiate Knights 29

A lockdown defensive effort powered the King George Dragons to a 57-29 victory over the St. Thomas More Collegiate Knights, holding STM to single digits in every quarter but the fourth.

Abud Shawwa scored 23 points and Rei Ikeda added 21 — including 17 after halftime — while Jason Leung led the Knights with six.

Tamanawis Wildcats 62 Terry Fox Ravens 52

Luka Guzina scored 25 points, Victor Cortel added 15, and Gurjowan Cheema knocked down four threes for his 12 points as the Tamanawis Wildcats edged the Terry Fox Ravens 62-52.For Terry Fox, Deklan Martin and Marvin Reyes led the way with 12 and 10 points, respectively.


St. Patrick Celtics 89 M.E.I. Eagles 69

Dhyne Cotin scored 27 points and Riley Santa Juana added 24 as the St. Patrick Celtics rolled to an 89-69 victory over the M.E.I. Eagles.Kaden Vandervelden led the Eagles with 19 points, while Mercer Thiessen finished with 15.
