Cross-border basketball battle runs Oct. 31-Nov. 2

Simon Fraser University (SFU) has partnered with the Langley Events Centre (LEC) to once again host the Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) Division II Tip-Off Classic.
The tournament features men's and women's teams from throughout North America with each team playing three games, resulting in six games daily from Friday, October 31 to Sunday, November 2.
"The CCA DII Canadian Tip-Off is one of the most competitive early-season tournaments in the country. It's a credit to the quality of DII basketball and to the programs that make the trip north to compete. It's exciting for our program and for B.C. basketball fans to see this level of play so early in the season. Every matchup will test us and set the tone for what's ahead," shared SFU Men's Basketball Head Coach Barnaby Craddock.
This is the third year SFU is hosting the event at Langley Events Centre with other participating teams including Cal State San Bernardino (California), Central Oklahoma, Central Washington, Western Washington and St. Edward's (Texas) on the men's side, while the women's teams also include Saint Martin's (Washington), Western Washington, Colorado Mesa, Minot State (North Dakota) and Wisconsin-Parkson
This event marks the official beginning of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II basketball season and provides teams with a valuable chance to strengthen their early-season credentials.
Admission is free for all SFU and FIC students, faculty and staff with SFU ID as well as for children under the age of 8. Fans can secure tickets online now.
