Alex Burrows – who scored one of the most iconic goals in Vancouver Canucks franchise history – is the featured guest at the Western Canada Sports Collectors Convention.

The event returns to Langley Events Centre August 8 to 10 and brings together sports fans, memorabilia enthusiasts, and collectors for one of the premier events of its kind in the region. It is organized by Bossa Productions with the autograph session courtesy of Premium Autographs.

This year’s convention features 400 vendor tables and a special appearance from Burrows, the former Vancouver Canucks star and fan favourite. Burrows, who became a household name during his 12 seasons with the Canucks – including his unforgettable overtime goal in Game 7 against Chicago in 2011 – will be signing autographs during the event on August 9 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, time subject to change.

It will showcase an incredible range of collectibles – from trading cards and autographed memorabilia to vintage treasures and rare sports items. With 400 vendor tables, attendees can browse, buy, sell, and trade across a massive selection covering hockey, baseball, basketball, football, and more.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just beginning your journey, the Western Canada Sports Collectors Convention offers a unique opportunity to discover rare items, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and meet one of the most iconic Canucks in franchise history.

Burrows’ journey to the NHL is a testament to perseverance. Signed as an undrafted free agent, he climbed the ranks from the ECHL to carve out a 13-year career in the league, spending most of his time with the Canucks before finishing with 91 games for the Ottawa Senators. Over 913 career games, Burrows tallied 205 goals and 409 points before retiring after the 2018 season. Following his playing days, he shifted to coaching and now serves in the Montreal Canadiens’ Player Development department.

“The passion for sports collecting continues to grow and having a popular figure like Alex Burrows join us makes this year’s event extra special for fans,” said event promoter Dale Novakowski.

“From modern and vintage trading cards to rare sports memorabilia and unique collectibles, the Western Canada Sports Collectors Convention is the must-visit event for every hobby enthusiast,” Novakowski said.

“This family-friendly weekend promises an atmosphere of excitement and connection — a place to share your passion, discover hidden treasures, and create lasting memories alongside thousands of fellow collectors. It is always a fun weekend, so you don’t miss the chance to be part of it.”

The event will feature corporate participation from industry leaders including Upper Deck, Zephyr Epic, Heritage Auctions, PSA, Beckett, TGA, Ultra Pro, Pather Group, UDA, and more.
