The Langley Events Centre (LEC) is pleased to announce that the 2014 BC “AA and “AAA” Boys Provincial Volleyball Championship Tournaments, presented by Big Kahuna will be hosted at the Langley Events Centre from November 26-29. The championships have been held in Kelowna for the past 20 years and will make its first trip to the Lower Mainland. The four day tournament features 36 teams from across the province, who will come to the LEC looking to be crowned champions. “Having the entire tournament in one complex is a huge plus,” said Tournament Director Sharon Carter. “I think coaches are going to really enjoy driving up to LEC, parking their vans and not having to move their vehicles for the rest of the day. It is a real step forward for the “AA” and “AAA” Boys’ Tournament.” For the Langley Events Centre, this tournament represents another addition to its list of annual provincial championships hosted at the venue. “We are very excited to be hosting the AA and AAA Boys Provincial Volleyball Championships here at the LEC,” said LEC Director of Business Development Jared Harman. “Having hosted both national and international volleyball in the past few years, we have seen the community really embrace these events and this will be another opportunity for fans to see amateur sport at its best.” The tournament will be played in the gymnasium which can be configured to put on a first-class tournament with the possibility of growing to include other boys’ volleyball tier championships in future years. The new location will continue to build upon the tradition and the excitement of the tournament while offering some new features for all the participants and their fans. “The Langley Events Centre is excited to host the “AA and AAA” BC High School Boys Volleyball Championships,” said LEC Director of Facility Operations Jamie Rennie. “We have been working with the organizing committee for over a year now in order to provide a first class event to the teams attending from around the province. In some cases this will be the first time for many people to have the opportunity to visit the Langley Events Centre, and we hope to make it a positive experience for the players, family and friends.
