The Township of Langley, Langley Events Centre, and Langley Minor Hockey Association are pleased to announce that Hockey Night in Canada’s “Hyundai Hockey Nation” event will make its first of six stops across Canada at the Langley Events Centre on December 3, 4, and 5, 2010.
CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada with camera crews on site, accompanied by a team of coaches and trainers are travelling across Canada to provide a weekend of hockey clinics and festivities for coaches, parents, and kids.
“I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Township’s Jason Winslade and Mark Bakken who recognized the value in hosting this event,” Township of Langley Mayor Rick Green stated this afternoon at the Township offices. “The Trinity Western University Spartans and the Langley Chiefs Jr. A Hockey teams worked with us to adjust their game times and scheduled practices as well as providing a complimentary admission to each child participating in the on-ice training events,” he said. “A very big thank-you also goes to our existing facility and team sponsors for their support in making this happen.”
Bob Woykin, President of the Langley Minor Hockey Association is also very excited about the Hyundai Hockey Nation’s stop in Langley. “With one thousand and fifty kids participating in Langley Minor Hockey we are extremely excited about this event and providing the lucky one hundred spots for those ages eight to twelve and coaches, who will be exposed to learning from the pros. The Langley Events Centre is a great facility and we are happy to show it off to all of the kids and families who will attend this three day event. On behalf of the Langley Minor Hockey Association I would like to thank Hyundai, Hockey Night in Canada, the Township of Langley and the Langley Events Centre for making this event come to life.”
